Sara Hossain Sends Message to Narges Foundation on Mahsa (Jina) Amini Anniversary
September 13, 2025
As the anniversary of the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini approaches, Sara Hossain, Chair of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFMI), sent a video message to the Narges Foundation.
In her remarks, Hossain outlined the work carried out by the Fact-Finding Mission to date and emphasized the urgent need for ongoing documentation of human rights violations in Iran. She called on human rights organizations and civil society groups to continue gathering and submitting evidence to the Mission, ensuring that the crimes of the Iranian authorities are fully recorded and cannot be erased.
The message comes on a day of global remembrance for Mahsa (Jina) Amini, whose death in the custody of Iran’s so-called Morality Police on 16 September 2022 sparked the historic “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising.
We thank Ms. Sara Hossain and the Fact-Finding Mission for their tireless efforts in defense of humanity, human rights, and women’s rights.
