Narges Mohammadi was subjected to a physical attack in Evin prison alongside other prisoners

“The Free Narges Coalition is alarmed by reports that Narges Mohammadi was subjected to a physical attack in Evin prison alongside other prisoners in connection with their peaceful protest. We are investigating reports that Mohammadi suffered acute chest pain and a respiratory attack as a result. We remain deeply concerned by her deteriorating health in prison and call again for her urgent release without delay. We stand in solidarity with Mohammadi’s family, and call for them to be allowed to speak with her and given full information about her situation immediately.”

“La Free Narges Coalition s’alarme après avoir appris que Narges Mohammadi a été victime d’une agression physique à la prison d’Evin (Iran) avec d’autres prisonniers lors d’une manifestation pacifique. Narges Mohammadi souffrirait de douleurs thoraciques aiguës et d’une crise respiratoire après cette attaque, ce que nous cherchons à confirmer. Nous restons profondément préoccupés par la détérioration de l’état de santé de la journaliste, défenseure des droits humains et lauréate du prix Nobel de la paix 2023 et demandons à nouveau sa libération urgente. Nous sommes solidaires de la famille de Mohammadi et demandons qu’elle soit autorisée à lui parler et qu’elle reçoive des informations complètes sur sa situation sans délai.”

 

«ائتلاف آزادی نرگس محمدی از گزارش ‌های رسیده مبنی بر اعمال خشونت فیزیکی علیه نرگس محمدی و دیگر زندانیان به دنبال اعتراض مسالمت‌آمیزشان بسیار نگران است. ما در حال بررسی این گزارش‌ها مبنی بر درد سینه شدید و حمله تنفسی او در پی اعمال این خشونت هستیم. ما هم‌چنین نگرانی شدید خود را از وخامت وضعیت سلامت او در زندان اعلام می‌کنیم و دوباره خواستار آزادی فوری او هستیم. ما با خانواده محمدی اعلام هم‌بستگی می‌کنیم و خواستار این هستیم که آنها بتوانند با او هر چه زودتر ارتباط برقرار کرده و از وضعیت سلامت‌ش مطلع شوند.»
