Human Rights Are Not Negotiable
27 May 2025
With Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Narges Mohammadi’s words in our hearts — “Lives of innocent civilians must not be sacrificed at the behest of those seeking war” — we at the Narges Foundation unequivocally condemn the ongoing war in Gaza: the killing of civilians and children, the blockade of aid, and the denial of food, water, and medicine to a population under siege.
This is not war. It is the collapse of human rights.
Children are dying not only from bombs but from hunger.
We recall the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
“Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”
“The right to food is not charity. It is a fundamental human right.”
All human beings are born free and equal.
Human rights are not regional, theoretical, or negotiable.
They are universal — or they are nothing.
Ceasefire now.
