Family Voices to UNGA 79th: Hamidreza and Taghi Rahmani Stand Together for Narges Mohammadi and All Political Prisoners
On September 24, as representatives from the Islamic Republic gathered at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Hamidreza Mohammadi and Taghi Rahmani, the brother and husband of Nobel Peace Laureate Narges Mohammadi called for her freedom.
In their urgent plea, Hamidreza and Taghi Rahmani emphasize the need for accountability from the Islamic Republic. They assert that the world must demand answers regarding the treatment of political prisoners, including Narges. Their message calls attention to the broader issue of human rights violations within Iran, stressing that no negotiation should take place without prioritizing human rights.
As the Islamic Republic’s representatives take the global stage, Hamidreza and Taghi urge the 79th UNGA members to amplify their message and advocate for the immediate release of political prisoners in Iran. They remind the world of Narges Mohammadi’s urgent medical situation and question why a woman who has fought for human rights all her life continues to be imprisoned.
“The Islamic Republic must be held accountable, and we must continue to question them until all political prisoners are freed.” Taghi Rahmani.
As discussions unfold at the 79th UNGA in NYC,Their call to action invites everyone to join in solidarity, raising awareness and demanding freedom for Narges Mohammadi and all political prisoners in Iran.
“We refuse to remain silent while they continue to imprison Narges, We won’t stop until all political prisoners are free!” Hamidreza Mohammadi
We invites everyone to join in solidarity, raising awareness and demanding freedom for Narges Mohammadi and all political prisoners in Iran.
